ha ha, nice update.
For the first picture i think you are better with using some reference.
There's no exact pose here, but there are some nice nudes pictures for you to practice with:
http://mjranum-stock.deviantart.com/gallery/#classical-nudes
Use them to practice some classical poses first then try to do your own pose.

Will do - thanks a bunch! The first pic wasn't that bad though, was it? I'm a bit lost...

So after 3-4 years of training, I'm still not even at the journeyman rank yet?
This is what happens when pesky economics and business homework get in the way of advancement in artistic training...fortunately, that deal will be over in two weeks and I can begin more art training proper this winter once I get to Rutgers...I think another notebook chibi comic installment of "Inside Paladin's Studio" is in order, if not for bettering chibi artwork than helping to vent some of this frustration.
Sorry, not being able to practice during finals week sucks.

Oh, it's nothing really - during my art training, I've begun to follow a similar ranking and training method to the stonemasons of the medieval era, only I do it with drawing and art. There were several ranks for them - learners, journeymen, and masters, if I remember correctly.
A learner would study under a master for several years (usually seven) and once his or her training was complete, he or she would have achieved the rank of a journeyman and begin working for other master craftsmen in order to hone their abilities further, traveling across various towns and places while learning various techniques so that the stonemason in question would be prepared to become a full fledged master. The next goal of the journeyman afterward was to create his or her own masterpiece to present to the guild as a test to show that they mastered their skills and were worthy of becoming the next master stonemason.
Similarly, I've trained under my friend for several years, although not the seven years a stonemason would before going on (which probably would explain a lot), but in reality, everyone at some point in their training, regardless of their skill level, learns something new each time or still has something to master. So yeah, I'm still not quite the journeyman yet, and I'm happy to be able to train under the good folks here.
(takes a drink of water after all that talking) Anyway, sorry for that long detailed speech. I made a couple of my own "Personal Diary" style comics during the night, and I'll get them posted up soon.

Wow it's been a while...haven't drawn for a bit, no thanks to summer course work and making a bunch of pointless paintings...but I have a few things I've been working on, one of which is still a work in progress and needs a bit of tweaking (I'll post it in Drawing Help shortly, but I wanted to put it here too), and the other is a more somber piece I finished a good long while ago - uploaded here. Now, let's see if I can remember how to upload images on here - it's been a really long time. I apologize if they're a bit big, but I wanted to try and get the details in as best as I could.
This one is a rather somber "What if?" picture I've entitled "Sheena's Wistful Sunset", made after looking at several pictures featuring hypothetical situations of immortal characters grieving while their non-immortal friends die around them. So I said to myself "What if something similar happened and Kouzou ended up dead after the war, survived by a future Sheena and their child?", and this was the result. Interestingly enough, I didn't even use Photoshop for the orange tint - that was from a temperature adjuster feature on my scanner. Took me about 3 days to finish; took 3 hours to shade, given that I haven't shaded something in a very long time.
This one was inspired from both playing too much Touhou and Hitman video games. I always wanted to draw two people in this sort of classic standoff pose - it just looks really cool. So for this one, I drew Reisen Udongein Inaba from the Touhou series, who for some reason decided to get in a gunfight with one of my villainesses from Status: Infected (my comic), Mistress Siren from the Project Succubus program. Took several weeks of tweaking to get it this far, and it still needs some work, with the legs being rather wonky among other problems - any help would be greatly appreciated, and given all the fantastic advice you've given me in the past, I know I can count on all of you once again.
This one isn't so much a drawing as it is "I was really bored in Visual Fundamentals class, and the professor was being as vague as ever, and since it was break time in the middle of a dull day (and really, for a pre-requisite course, the guy gave little or no advice and I learned very little), I made this drawing with visions of the coming Otakon in my head." If they can make a venue like this for an actual anime convention, I can die happy.
More to come soon.
